Training & range time
Trained to a higher standard.
Restraint backed by capability. Prime officers are confident enough in their training to choose the least force a situation allows, and skilled enough to act decisively when a person is in danger.
On the range
Real officers. Real range time.
Range days and certification classes keep every officer sharp: live fire at steel and paper, qualification with the duty weapon, and hands-on medical training. Marksmanship is a perishable skill, so we treat the annual state qualification as the floor.

State minimum vs. Prime standard
The law sets a floor. We build on it.
| Typical industry minimum | Prime Security Group |
|---|---|
| 14 hours of classroom training for an unarmed Oregon post | Pre-hire orientation plus supervised posts before any solo assignment |
| Firearms qualification once a year | Annual qualification plus regular range time to keep skills sharp |
| No state requirement for first aid | First aid, CPR and AED before the first solo shift |
| Hands-on rules left to each company | Two officers present for any hands-on intervention |
| No restraint-safety curriculum required | Restraint and positional-asphyxia training, refreshed every year |
| Body cameras optional | Body-worn camera issued to every officer, with footage reviewed |
| Use of force reviewed only if a complaint is filed | Every use of force reviewed by a supervisor within 72 hours |
The Prime training matrix
17 required training areas
No officer works a solo post until every item marked before first solo shift is complete and documented. An officer who misses an annual refresher comes off the schedule until it is done.
